Fun, flirty cosmetics that will knock your stockings off!

Comicon was a HUGE Success!

Phoenix Comicon was so much fun!!! Our booth was so busy that we even had lines from time to time which was amazing! We absolutely loved meeting some of our Facebook fans in person and making new friends!

We released several brand new colors that we created exclusively for Comicon. Our top sellers were:
Bo – a super sparkly electric blue, Magick – a beautiful intense purple, Neutral – the perfect pinky beige, Sith – a very sparkly red, Vader – an intense black with red sparkles, and of course our Diamond Dust shadow booster.
All of these sold out. To be honest though, all of our colors seemed to be pretty popular. We will be recreating the top sellers that sold out again for our online shop, but as our regular fans know, and our new ones will find out, many of our colors are limited edition (as most of the Comicon colors will be) and once they’re gone, they likely won’t be back, so be sure not to hesitate in getting them.

Our shop will reopen on May 31st and we can’t wait for those of you who couldn’t make it out to PCC to see all of the gorgeous new colors! Our shop’s address is Our Etsy shop will likely not be reopening so be sure to go sign up for a free buyer’s acct. on Craft Cafe. I personally think it’s the bees knees of handmade sites!

In the meantime, here are a bunch of the makeovers that our makeup artists at Comicon did. Please be sure to go “like” their pages on Facebook. Both girls used a bunch of our new shadows on these makeover clients. I will do another blog post specifically with the photos and colors used in the near future.

We wanted you to get to know our models better so we did a quick interview with each one. Here you go in alphabetical order by last name:

Codi D. –

1. Tell us a little about yourself…

Most people know me as magickfreak but my real name is Codi I’m 36, yes 36, lol. I’ve been doing makeup for a long time I started when I was 17 . I’ve been in the art world all my life so to me makeup is just another art form. I live with my skater brat son. I have been makin people crazy looking for a while, I’m a stylist by trade and love every minute of it! I love the whole field that I’m in, you meet so many great people an have so many opportunities. I’ve done more in the last year and wouldn’t trade it for anything!!

2. What got you into the makeup industry and how did you get started?

My grandma did hair and makeup for a living and I just remember watching her. I guess it was bound to happen that I followed in her footsteps. She was punk before punk was cool with her pink hair and long red nails but it wasn’t until a conversation with a friend that I realized I could really make my life from this industry and from there it was true love.

3. How did you find out about Dollipop?

I actually found out from a friend and I must say I have come to love the company an the people I work with. They are all different in their own right and bright new ideas every day couldn’t ask for anything better.

4. What’s one of your favorite makeup tips?

NO WORRIES IT’S JUST MAKEUP ….the good thing about makeup is anything can be fixed SO GO BLOW YOUR OWN MIND SEE WHAT YOU COME UP WITH!

5. What inspires you creatively?

Everything is an inspiration … everyone sees things different doesn’t make you any better or any worse it’s just how you see it. I stare at pics to see how things are done and I work my own twist on stuff.

6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Working behind the scenes in high fashion, that’s where my heart lies. I’m an quick thinker and I work better under pressure. Some of my best ideas have come from hair and makeup shows and having to think quickly for a solution. I like the challenge!!

7. What do you not leave the house without?

Super easy, besides my cell you’ll never see me leave my house without my BIG BAG OF CRAZY (named my a friend). I carry everything an anything you can imagine from makeup, clothes, flip flops, a sewing kit, and a metal kit! Just to name a few! LoL!

8. Whats you favorite color?

Oohhh BLUE totally it has so many emotional ranges.

9. Whats your favorite food?

Well I’m part Italian and I love home cooking but I love Mexican cuz this girl can eat her weight in nachos. Lol.

10. Where can fans follows you?

Among a hoard of others

Jennifer G.

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

Hi, I’m a Mom of 3 girls, age 8 Alazandra, 2 Liddea, and 1 Shauna. I love going out and about in the summer with the kids but when it’s cold I like to stay inside. Don’t like the cold at all lol. I lived in Florida for 8 years, I so miss it there. That’s where I went to school for art. I moved back to Wisconsin in 2001 in the dead of winter, bad idea my toes couldn’t handle it. I have a man his name is Jeremy we have been with each other for over 2 years now. Hes a sweetheart and I love him. I was the kind that gave up on love after my last one but when Jeremy came into my life he changed all that. I also write Poems, draw, paint, take photos, and bake. I’ve been writing poems since 2000 and saved all of them. I started drawing and painting at a very young age. I don’t have many of those saved but my family has some still hung up on their walls to this day. My kids inspired me to take photos. I think I take 100 or more a week of them, more when it’s summer because of going outside and all those colors you see that look good in the pics with them.

2. What got you into the makeup industry and how did you get started?

Well one day I was watching tv and when Face Off first came out. I was like ahhh I so have to try that! I went on the net looking for schools so I could learn how to make latex and makeup looks. I found one and started to follow them on Fb. I started to see a lot of makeup pages comment on their page and liked a lot of them. I looked at their pages and so wanted to try and do that as well. I thought it would be as easy as drawing on paper but I was wrong. I’ve been doing makeup for 5 months now and I’ve been getting better as the days go by. I love to bring the face alive with makeup and hope to soon be doing looks on others.

3. How did you find out about Dollipop Cosmetics?

I found out about Dollipop Cosmetics off of Beyond Beauty’s page. They posted that Dollipop was looking for eye models. I just had to try and see if I could make it and when I got messages from a lot of my fans it didn’t really kick in till Dollipop messaged me. Then I was very happy and shaky at the same time. Didn’t get much sleep that night and I still lay awake at night daydreaming about it. I knew there where so many very talented people trying as well but I kept on sending in looks.

4. What is one of your favorite makeup tips?

My favorite tip is if you want to do a full face look draw it out first. I found that out the hard way. If you’re doing a look and you just found out you don’t have lipstick that matches, what I do is mix some of my eyeshadow in it to make a color I want. Don’t ever forget to wash your brushes! You don’t want old oil and germs back onto your face and if there’s left over color on it it will mix with the color you are trying to apply.

5. What inspires you creatively?

What Inspires my creativity, other MUAs and if I’m outside, let’s say springtime, my surroundings inspire me as well. A flower, the colors on it. The colors of the sky and sea. To get better at what you love all you have to do is keep working on it keep trying and you will make it. The stuff that inspires your creativity, use it. Try and relax and just let it flow to you. You need to empty your mind, breath, and let it come to you.

6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years I hope to see myself doing looks on models and making those scary things you see on tv. I’m going to push myself to do this and make it happen because when you do what you love you love to do that and your not stressed about it. You can do what ever you put your mind to. You just got to find that one thing your good at.

7. What do you not leave the house without?

I always keep lip gloss on me. So I don’t get chapped lips.

8. What’s your favorite color?

My favorite color’s blue and at times some pinks.

9. What is your favorite food?

Well My man is a chef so anything he cooks I so love. BBQ ribs if I was to cook.

1. Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Heather Lindsey and I am an aspiring makeup artist.  I am self taught and I love to befriend new people whether it be other people interested in makeup, new fans, or a random person I just met.  I’m a very positive person and I always try to be helpful.  If anybody has any questions, please ask :]

Really, it all just started in my bedroom.  Just experimenting with makeup and color combinations.  It started out as a dream and now it’s become my biggest passion.

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

I am a 20 year old aspiring MUA. I enjoy trying new things & different ideas with all makeup.
I have been doing makeup for about only a year and a half. I am not able to buy the expensive products
but I work with any thing I have. I try to always see the positive in everything, because the thing I have learned
about makeup is that you don’t have to take it to seriously. Only you know the mistakes you’ve made. c:

2. What got you into the makeup industry and how did you get started?

I got started playing around & really getting into makeup about a year and half ago, just for the fun
of it and for contests I would find on facebook. That’s also when I started my page Beyond Beauty.

3. How did you find out about Dollipop Cosmetics?

I don’t remember how I found Dollipop cosmetics I’m pretty sure it was through other makeup pages. It could be
possible that I found it through a contest. c:

4. What is one of your favorite makeup tips?

Creativity is your best makeup skill, don’t be afraid to experiment!

5. What inspires you creatively?

My Inspiration would have to be many wonderful drag queens. (Carmen Carrera, Juju Bee, Nina Flowers, Raven, Roxxxy Andrews,

would have to be Scott Barnes!

6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years I see my self working somewhere in the cosmetics industry or the Drag Scene.

I can not leave my house with out Contacts!! ^-^

Terri S. –

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

I was born in Pampanga, Philippines and raised in a very small town in Southern Arizona. I have lived in AZ, CA, NV, and HI! I am multi-cultural (half filipino/half caucasian) and love it.
I am 100% obsessed and passionate about make-up and the beauty industry. I enjoy working with everyone, from clients to everyday people to inspire them to feel good about themselves and be confident in their appearance. I believe in spreading kindness towards one another and do not allow negative words, comments, or people crush my heart or soul. I try to remind myself that every single person is fighting their own battle in some way and try to uplift spirits whenever possible.
2. What got you into the makeup industry and how did you get started?
My undying passion and love for the beauty industry and helping people is the reason why I decided to turn my PT hobby into a full fledged career. As a former social worker, helping others has and always will be a part of who I am. I love how a makeup transformation can heighten a person’s confidence level and empower them to realize how amazing and unique they are. Society is unbelievably harsh and portrays unrealistic expectations of beauty. I remind everyone I come into contact with that each person has unique beauty that nobody else can have. Individualized fingerprints of beauty.Creative possibilities are as endless as dreams should be. Always flourishing and growing in beauty. ♥
I got started in the industry by promoting myself and getting out there. It truly is a labor of love, and requires hard work. I networked a lot, which is extremely important if you want to go anywhere. You never know who is connected to who, and what potential possibilities are out there. Never stand in your own way. Continue to grow and attend workshops to stay current with trends, products, and continue to hone your craft. That is what I do and continue to do. I’ve met a lot of amazing people from attending workshops! We are always going to be unfinished products in this life, so I say run out there and just make a start.
3. How did you find out about Dollipop Cosmetics?

I found out about Dollipop Cosmetics through an extremely popular social media site called oh I don’t know…..Facebook!
4. What is one of your favorite makeup tips?
“No amount of makeup can mask an ugly heart.” -Kevin Aucoin
5. What inspires you creatively?
Anything and everything. I think creativity and how each person can take an identical concept and make it their own is truly amazing. Another reminder of how unique each one of us are, and why that contributes so much to molding an interesting future.
6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I wish I could truly answer this question, but in a sense I enjoy how unexpected life is. I have had many many experiences in my life where I have been reminded life is not promised to us, and try to take each day as it is granted to me. However, if I had to say what a 5 year goal would be is to maybe have a team (fashion designers, hair stylists, MUAs, models) working for me and collectively working on projects as a unit, whether it be a photo shoot, fashion show, or event. It’s hard to truly say simply because life throws things at you and makes you expand your horizon *shrug* like Natasha Bedingfield says “the rest is still unwritten!”
7.What do you not leave the house without?

My false eyelashes on my eyes… girl!
8. What’s your favorite color?

Pink (of course!)
9. What is your favorite food?

I don’t think I could ever narrow it down to one item. I absolutely love Italian food. I love to cook but stick mainly to Asian or American influences. I leave the Italian to Carrabas. They get me every time. YUM!
